Hubei China-Austria Center and Malaysias East Coast Economic Region Explore a New Chapter of Cooperation

In late February 2025, the management committee of Malaysia’s East Coast Economic Region extended an invitation to Professor Jin Shengli, head of the Hubei China-Austria (Europe) Center for Science, Technology and Education Innovation and president of the Austrian-Chinese Science and Technology Association (PASCO), for an in-depth exchange. At the meeting, Professor Jin Shengli gave a detailed account of the construction of the Hubei China-Austria Center and an overview of PASCO’s development, while Yang Xi, deputy director of the International Office of the Wuhan University of Science and Technology, introduced the university’s basic profile. Mr. Thew Kok Lim, senior executive officer of the management committee, focused on presenting the industrial and educational environment of Malaysia’s East Coast. The two sides held in-depth discussions on talent cultivation and vocational education and reached a preliminary consensus on a cooperation plan.

The management committee expressed high appreciation for the achievements of the Wuhan University of Science and Technology in science and education in fields such as materials, metallurgy, mechanical engineering and safety, and stated that it would actively promote one-on-one in-depth cooperation between relevant enterprises in the economic development region and the Wuhan University of Science and Technology. Also attending the meeting were committee officials V. Sharmilaa Velayutham, Siti Aida Hamzah, Sandra Sinom Anggat, Mohamad Faris Mohamad Sabarudin and Hazuarie Zulkiflee.
